Bio
Virginia Lee Story is a dedicated professional with extensive litigation and mediation experience spanning 41 years of practicing law. She graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1981 and enrolled in law school the following fall at the Nashville School of Law. Virginia earned her Juris Doctorate in 1985, passed the bar exam immediately, and opened her practice in Franklin, Tennessee.
Virginia and her family quickly fell in love with Franklin and called it their home. The growth in Williamson County and the greater Middle Tennessee area brought her best friend and law partner, Joanie Abernathy, to join the practice in 1987. Together, the two of them have built and grown their law practice.

The firm has two locations: the main office across from the Franklin Courthouse at 136 4th Avenue South in Historic Downtown Franklin, and a satellite location in the Berry Farms neighborhood in Franklin, called the Franklin Mediation Center.
Virginia is a dedicated family law attorney providing both compassion and strength to her clients through her 41 years of practice and experience. This knowledge of the Mediation structure in Tennessee has proven to be invaluable to Virginia, giving her unique insight into what succeeds in mediation and what does not.
In addition to her service as a Commissioner with the Alternative Dispute Resolution, she has served as an Officer in the Williamson County Bar Association, as a Member of the Tennessee Bar Association, and as a Member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association. Virginia is active in the John Marshall American Inns of Court and uses her experience to mentor attorneys.
